Many may know Stephaine by her rich accent which stems from her being born in Alabama. However did she end up in the Quad Cities? As a military wife Stephaine has traveled to a variety of places including the following states: “NC, VA, KS, KY, HI (which was the best), VA (again) and here.” Stephaine keeps busy in her home life with being married for 11 years (together 14) and running a household of 6 children: Brandi (25), Kristi (19), Danny (18), Jaimi (17), Mark (14) and Hunter (7). Stephaine also has two granddaughters, Brooklyn (7) and Elizabeth (2 months). Stephaine is currently working toward her BA in Liberal Arts, minoring in Psychology with an Emphasis on the Peace Corps. Anyone who knows Steph knows she loves to run. She stopped smoking five years ago (in November) and it was her husband who introduced her to her love of running. Despite a few surgeries slowing her down she’s still persistent in running as much as she can. In addition to running Stephaine also enjoys hiking in which she and her husband and are planning to complete the Appalachian Mountains and Pacific Trail which they’re experienced with, but never experienced in its entirety. Stephaine is also an active volunteer in her personal and academic life as it gives her a sense of completeness. This is what has lead Stephaine to the Psychology Club where she previously held the position of Secretary and is currently the President. Her volunteering also lead her to a position as a student worker in Student Services giving her a variety of opportunities and being able to work closely with great mentors like Curtis Williams and Debbie Kepple-Mamros. Stephaine also completed an internship with the Vice President’s office this past summer which helped her find her focus for her Master’s in Public Administration. After her husband retires and their youngest son graduates high school they’re planning on joining the Peace Corps so they can help and touch as many lives as possible. To contact Stephaine please feel free to come to a Psychology Club meeting and get connected!
