Women’s Health Fair

On Saturday March 4th, the 2019 KWQC UnityPoint Health-Trinity Women’s Health and Lifestyle Fair took place at the River Center in Davenport, Iowa. KWQC-TV6, UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Hy-Vee and many other local businesses are involved. I have attended this event for the past three years and have enjoyed it every time.

The event has many booths from UnityPoint Health-Trinity with a variety of information. My brother got the opportunity to practice CPR and I got to try on these goggles that deter drunk driving. Hy-Vee has a long line of booths where you can taste test products from different companies which you can find in their stores in the health market section. In the line they have coupons and information about their products. Not only do you get to taste products, but some of the booths have samples of products that you can take with you.

If you are someone who doesn’t want to stand in the line, you can skip it and go to the end of the line and purchase bags filled with tons of products for only $5.00. My family and I love to go in the line and purchase one of the $5.00 bags as well.

I wanted to talk about some of the brands and products they had through the line and in their bags. This year they had products from Sola, which is a company that has a variety of products that are low sugar and low carbs such as bars, bread, ice cream and granola. Another company, Modern Table, sells high protein pastas – in the line we got to try their creamy marinara pasta and their macaroni & cheese. They even have vegan products.

Another company, which is my personal favorite, is Kodiak Cakes. We tried their strawberry oatmeal, which was amazing, and in my $5.00 bag I got their microwaveable buttermilk & maple flapjack. There were other companies there that had products like protein powders, granola bars, oatmeal, smoothie packets and probiotics/supplements. I also got to try Bai Bubbles, a drink company, and I really loved the black cherry flavor. It is always fun going to the Women’s Health Fair because it is a great way to try new products and even learn information about these products.
