Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. 3-5 years of experience in administering financial aid for a private university setting preferred. Position Duties include:
-Overseeing all phases of the awarding process including adjusting and cancelling financial aid, verification and loan certification.
-Overseeing department payment processing and reporting requirements related to federal, state and institutional funds received for SAIC students.
-Overseeing refund processing. Ensures accurate and timely refunds to students and parents according to federal, state and institutional policies. Seeks efficiencies and improvements in these areas for both students and staff.
-Overseeing the Student Payroll process. Ensures accurate and timely pay earning to students according to the federal work-study regulations as well as federal, state, county/city, and institutional requirements. Seeks efficiencies and improvements in these areas for both students and staff.
-Assisting the Director in compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations, which includes written policies and procedures. Also, assist with determining student budgets and allocation institutional/departmental resources.
-Developing, maintaining and presenting training materials to staff.
-Overseeing student loan repayment outreach initiatives for students about to enter repayment and/or e delinquent in repayment. Assists/educates students to prevent them from becoming delinquent or default.
-Working closely with director and staff to identify and prioritize specific functions that need enhanced or improved within the Processing area and SFS Department.
-Researching, creating, and implementing plans to improve the processing identified above.
-Assisting in completing audits and program reviews as they relate to financial aid programs.
-Attending SAIC functions including Admissions recruiting events and SFS Training Events. Some weekends and travel required.
