My name is Marijana “Mari” Nedic. I was born in Darmstadt, Germany and possess both Croatian and US citizenship. I came to the U.S with my parents as Yugoslavian refugees with little money and only one suitcase. This challenging and diverse background has instilled in me resiliency, cultural fluency, and a strong work ethic. Thus, my column stems from my truth and those who have inspired me.

We are in an age with access to unlimited information, but little wisdom. My intention is to inspire and motivate people just like you and me, through interviews and synopses of influential figures.
