Momma has some great new places for you to check out from all around the QC!
Mammas current fave, Miracle @ The Freight House, is a Christmas pop-up bar. That’s right! A Christmas themed bar and it’s a five sense experience. Upon walking in, your eyes will be overloaded with merry and bright Christmas décor, your nostrils filled with the aroma of warm old fashioned Chex Mix, your ears graced by the familiar tune of your favorite Christmas songs, tasty drinks that will make your taste buds dance, and centerpieces you can actually play with.
There are lots of places in the QC to check out festive light displays!
Vanderveer in Davenport offers a free light display indoors in the conservatory as well as outdoors. Momma recently visited the display at the Quad City Botanical Center. This display does need to be booked in advance online and cost $8 for adults. Lastly, there is a light show at Fejervary equipped with music and dancing lights. You can listen by tuning your car radio to 107.5 FM.
Momma does love her breakfast, and every other meal…ok, just food in general, but here are a couple of her latest breakfast spots: one a long time fave and the other a fresh find.
Ross’ Restaurant has been a local fave since the 1940’s. Although it is no longer in its original spot, Ross’ is still home to the famous Magic Mountain: Texas toast topped with ground beef and hash browns, smothered in cheese! Ross’ is old fashioned comfort food with comfortable prices.
Momma’s new find is a fancy breakfast joint called Links in Davenport, IA. Links is a farm to table restaurant that works with local vendors to provide the freshest most local products possible. Along with delicious food, they also have a full coffee and espresso bar. Links offers a casual atmosphere with fancy food and….fancy prices (If ya know what I mean.)
