Governor Pat Quinn visited Western Illinois University – Quad Cities to announce an investment towards Phase III construction.

Phase III construction will cost an estimated total of $34.6 million dollars. It will expand WIU-QC’s Science and Engineering programs.

Students gathered around their governor to listen to him address his commitment to the expanding university. Governor Quinn expressed his recognition of WIU-QC as an important figure in the Quad Cities community and how vital the expansion of the campus will be to producing more local jobs.

Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas made the trip from Macomb to support the announcement.
